our who

Dr. Kate Cleveland PT, DPT

Founder and Clinician

I am honored our paths have crossed. My name is Kate Cleveland and I am a lover, dreamer and habitual over-thinker. I received my Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Emory University in 2011 and have practiced in a variety of clinical settings prior to finding my life’s work in women’s health after the birth of my son in 2019. I am certified in dry needling and as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist.

We provide compassionate, personalized, evidenced informed, trauma informed support for women with physical therapy services. We support all women, at all stages.

Enso Mama is inclusive and LGBTQ+ affirming.

Dr. Kassi Rieger

Clinician, Adult Pelvic Health

Kassi Rieger grew up around Dallas and graduated from PT school in 2021. She immediately started working in the orthopedic and pelvic floor space. Kassi is super passionate about serving all people with pelvic floor dysfunction, but has a special place in her heart for perinatal care and pain with intimacy. Kassi is dry needling certified and excited about helping people get back to the gym to make sure they're strong enough to keep up with all life's demands.

our why

Dr. Kate’s passion for nurturing women long began before the birth of her son in March 2019 as she served her community as a nanny since the age of 13. She spent months preparing extensively for pregnancy and for labor, but was completely overwhelmed, under supported and unprepared for post birth recovery and the challenges she would face.

She labored in a hospital after her water broke for 21 hours in what her OB called at the 6 week check up, “text book labor”. Nothing about her Pitocin induced labor, failed and forced epidural or painful recovery felt “text book” as she had always envisioned something more empowering filled with informed consent. She ended up with significant perineum and pelvic floor muscle tearing leading to severe urinary incontinence, pain and a debilitating postpartum uterine infection. We now know all of these things contributed to her two year long battle with severe postpartum anxiety, depression and insomnia. Her son woke every 30 minutes to nurse for months due to his oral restrictions, even after a tongue tie revision and none of the baby sleep techniques prepared her for the sheer exhaustion that followed. She is grateful she knew to advocate for hereself to any provider that would listen and insist on pelvic floor physical therapy and counseling despite being encouraged by her provider to wait and see and “just do kegels”. Without any local family support and a partner working long hours as a first responder, Dr. Kate felt isolated, depleted and overwhelmed wondering if she’d ever sleep or feel like herself again.

Dr. Kate’s challenging postpartum experience ignited her passion and led to her life’s work of helping center the mother while supporting families during this sacred season. She went on to obtain a postpartum doula certification and a postdoctoral pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist certification.

Our goal at Enso Mama is to equip and empower women with education, resources and non-biased support to allow them to live their most vibrant, full life.
